Spontaneous VS Prophetic

  • “The spontaneous song isn’t about the worship leader but about the people digging into their own hearts and giving thanks to the Lord.”

  • “When a room finds their song and their voice, something opens up in worship in a whole new way.”

  • “The prophetic song is like a distinct impression that I can’t ignore. It sticks as something I need to sing out or act out on.”

  • “It’s all about the voice of God, and we learn to follow His voice.”

Singing Your Own Song

  • “We are called to be a people of worship, filled with thanksgiving and praise, ready to bring an offering at the drop of a hat.”

  • “If you don’t have anything in your well, it’s our job to fill it with praise and keep it flowing and bubbling.”

  • “It’s like the difference between buying a Hallmark card instead of writing out what that person means to you in your own words.”

Leading a Band

  • “Tell the band during rehearsal when you want to create time to let the song breath.”

  • “Sometimes the band doesn't read you well and go where you were planning to go, but you just keep going and you’ll get that moment back later.”

  • “It takes knowing who you’re leading with, and honoring the leader in spontaneous moments to keep the momentum going.”

  • “Being led while we are leading is what brings breakthrough.”
