Course Overview
Encountering God in a moment
-
God promised us there was more, and there has to be more of Him for us to encounter than what was already written.
-
“My dad taught me that it’s about His presence in this very moment because a good father knows how to meet their kid at that moment, not try to drag them into something they’re not ready for.”
-
“There are churches all over the world singing certain songs, because it’s what God is breathing on, and whether it’s our song or not we should be singing it.”
Vulnerability
-
God honors risk-taking and vulnerability.
-
Rather than looking for a formula, young worshipers should lead with someone who covers them and gives them a chance to try.
-
“It’s vulnerable every time, and if it’s not, I know I’m not bringing all of me. It should feel a little bit unnerving.”
-
“I have to realize the smile of God is all I’m looking for, and it’s easier to get that with God than with people.”
-
If we connect and adore Him, and practice taking a risk, He’s going to honor that.
Balancing life on stage and off stage
-
“I sit with the Lord and let Him center me before I get on stage.”
-
When we only spend time with God while we’re on stage, we will get confused about whether He is just speaking to us or the whole room.
-
“I have also learned that if God is wiring in me a message, it’s not only for me.”
-
“Sometimes the Lord just says, ‘Let them watch.’ That used to freak me out, but it’s better caught by people than taught.”
