Tabernacle of David

TABERNACLE OF DAVID - RAY HUGHES

The tabernacle of David is more than can be confined to your designated church time.

You have to start with an understanding of David before you understand the tabernacle.

• David was a man after God’s own heart.
• David was a worshipper.
• He was a shepherd, king, giant slayer, and psalmist.
• He was also a sinner and a repenter.

The reason David had God’s heart was that David gave his heart over to God in worship.

• You are carrying God’s heart for your generation.
• Find out what your sound is in the symphony of God.

If what you do in life is not out of the overflow of your worship, you forfeit your reason for existence.

• Find out who you are.
• God is looking for worshippers who will be a full expression of what He called them to be.

What is your sound?

• 1 Chron. 16:4

David set up a new system in which people could experience God like they never had before.

• He began to create a new culture of worship.
• He created an environment where one could interact with God.
• They sang the same song for 33 years (the same length of Jesus’ life).

Mesah: A prophetic burden or the weightiness of God’s glory.

• He was teaching the people to carry the weight of God’s presence in their worship through the playing of instruments.
• They had to touch something of sacrifice in order to bring the presence of God.

Yadah: To thank from the hand.

God is raising up a generation that understands the tabernacle of David.

We need thankfulness.

• We need to teach a whole generation about thankfulness.
• Raise up troops of thankers, and take the hope into a place that is hopeless. The exercises of worship in the tabernacle of David:

Halal-Praise

• Psalm 84:4, Psalm 102:18, Psalm 113, Ps 119:64
• Halal means to rave, to boast, to radiate, act madly, or to shine unto God.
• This is where the word praise comes from.

Shira-Sing

• Release your sound of worship and others will come into agreement.
• Give the earth a sound to come into agreement with.
• This is an example of Heaven invading earth!

Zakar-Remember and commemorate.

• Much of the music in Israel was about recounting and remembering God’s mighty acts.
• For 33 years no one could invade Israel, because they would lift up a sound! A warrior sound of the authority of God would come out of his people and deter the enemies from invading.
• Whatever you value you can access.
• You can remind your enemy they have no access.
• God would move when they were reminded of His great works.
• As a prophetic musician, you have access!

The shepherd field of David was inhabited by praises and the son of David from a manger would carry the same song.

The goal is to carry the heart of David.

• God is looking for people who will understand the Holy Spirit. (Psalm 45)
• We get to redefine to this generation what music is.
• Every time creativity is released we understand more about God.
• There is a surge of God’s creativity to this generation.

Yadah-Praise, thanks, and worship.

• Timid is a polite term for self-centeredness.
• Judah was born; praise was born.
• Teach and release!
• 2 Chron. 20
• Psalm 9

Every time creativity occurs it reveals another facet of His nature.

• Something happens in our heart when we get His.
• God’s got something bigger for you: lifestyles of praise, embracing new sounds, & a new understanding of music.

Barak-Kneel, solute, and bless.

• It’s about God when you come into His presence.
• When you come into the presence you kneel, bless, solute, and don’t take your eyes off his throne.
• Bless the Lord of my soul. (Psalm 103:1,2,21,22)

Tehillah-The only kind of praise God inhabits.

• He is enthroned upon the praises.
• God gave the position of the throne to the blood of Jesus so that He would be enthroned upon our praises!
• Become presence minded rather than position minded.

Zamar- To pluck the strings and sing praises.

Go through your Bible and mark the differences in the levels of praise.

Towdah-

To raise the hands and give thanks and praise for what God is going to do. * Psalm 50:23 * Psalm 100:4

Shabach-To shout, to address in a loud tone; shout praises.

• Ps 145:4
• Shout mighty acts of God into the generation!
